Ronald has severe Collie
Eye Anomaly. The retina in one eye is already detached
so he is completely blind in that eye. The retina in
his other eye is in the process of detaching but surgery can
still save his sight. Ronald has many other health
problems including chronic and severe demodecosis. His
adoptive family has spent many hundreds of dollars on his
health care and would appreciate help from The GirlFriend
Fund for his eye surgery. |
Dart is unadoptable because he
is reactive around certain stimuli, especially the water
hose. He gets in an altered state and has other
symptoms suggestive of post-traumatic stress disorder.
He is a very sweet dog but not a predictable one. He
suffers from a number of conditions and we suspect he has
systemic lupus. He also appears to have inflammatory
bowel disease. His permanent foster home would
appreciate help with his medications and his food.

Guy is a young dog but he has a
very poorly functioning immune system. He suffers from
chronic demodetic mange and from chronic cystitis. His
conditions can be treated with medication--fortunately he is
normal for the drug sensitivity gene so he can take
ivermectin--but he must be on medication constantly.
His adoptive family also adopted Ronald and they are quite
the needy pair. So far the adopters have paid hundreds
of dollars for both dogs. Very few adopters would be so
devoted to dogs like these, who will be chronically ill
their entire lives. Donations to the GirlFriend Fund
will help defray some of these costs. |
Scotty has an unaggressive
cancer that formed a tumor in his hind leg. At first
we thought it was a foxtail tract but it turned out to be
malignant. Surgery seems to have removed it all and Scotty
is doing well, feeling great. He is in permanent
foster care, because of his age and his terminal illness.
He requires medication for his constantly infected ears,
which are probably that way because of his unusual ear
structure. Donations from the GirlFriend Fund will
help defray his veterinary costs. |
Arthur had a severely injured
hip joint and a FHO (femoral head osteoctomy) which helped
to relieve his chronic pain. However, he still suffers from
some limited mobility and inflammation. He also has
inflammatory bowel disease. He therefore requires some
on-going medications to help keep him comfortable. He
is also in permanent foster care. |
